      Beaumaris Castle is worth a visit too if you like your castles.
      Portmeiron also a lovely day out but an hour from Llandudno

              I've been exchanging messages with the real J in C for the last couple of days (and he's sent photos) with a shared interest in history. He is planning to go to Conwy tomorrow.


              It does amaze me that people fall for the obvious impostering so often. And it's pretty sad that the imposters do it, though arguably James sometimes brings it on himself.

                    Conway is splendid. The castle and the surrounding fortified town were built to subjugate the Welsh, which they did for a while. The town was populated by English people, much as James 1 tried to do in Ireland.
