Puts the England men's team to shame

All the hype and failures of the England men's team really do look even worse now. Well done Ladies !

      🤣🤣🤣🤣

The men and women's game really isn't comparable.

If the mens team rocked up to a tournament where the majority of other teams couldn't defend for shit, they may well do better.

Well done to the women's team but only a simpleton judges it against the mens game.

I may be wrong here but going off other people's replies to you lately, aren't you the one that set up the 'new' outlaws messageboard?

I can confirm you are wrong in the substance of your question.

Nail on head. If you watch it expecting the same as the men's game, you'll be disappointed. But put that to one side and it's a joy.

On the same theme, clappy sticks, drums, mexican waves, phone lights and Sweet ####ing Caroline at Kenilworth Road? #### right off. But in this context, great. People having fun: you have to be a right miserable ####er to moan about that.

The clappy sticks and all the other bullshit exists because it's the only to generate a little bit of atmosphere at a women's game. Notice how subdued the crowd tonight was? ####ing hell, if they can't make a bit of noise for a ####ing FINAL then we'd better give them all the clappy sticks they like

What womens football needs is some pissed up blokes in designer gear, coked up to the eyeballs, few shots in the pub, looking for a tear up, chucking flares onto the pitch.

Bloody kids having fun, Tut tut

Subdued? Not in my opinion. Nervous, yes. As we and every other crowd have been when things are on a knife edge. In the ideal world we'd always sing our hearts out, but we don't and never have.

That's strange mate, when I was at the world cup a few years back it was pretty much unbroken singing for 90 minutes. And for several hours before and after the game.

'I was at the world cup'. What's that supposed to mean? The whole thing? Where? When?

I was actually referring to Luton, but there you go. Judging by your now deleted posts you seem to be some sort of white supremicist, so no wonder you're a deluded sexist too.

My point is that just because we are moving into a new, modern ground, we don't have to adopt new, modern football nonsense that you rightly called out

And I'm sure the club are aware of that

Asbolutonly mate. We have a different appeal that that and though we will of course need to attract new fans I 100% trust 2020 to reflect who we are. Because they're fans like us. Proper Luton.

As an aside, I've enjoyed your posts that I've opened tonight.

Getting to a semi-final and a final of the last 2 men's tournaments is not success, as such, but considering most of the previous 50-odd years, I wouldn't describe 2018 and Euro 2020 (2021) a failure either

The men's game obviously has much more strength in depth too in terms of number of decent national sides compared to the women's game. Not taking anything away from the lionesses but that's just a fact

Dunno why people just can't enjoy the success of the women without finding some weird negative angle to it

Point of order: winning #### all since 1898, or 1881, or whenever we're claiming to have been formed nowadays is embarrassing

Re: Puts the England men's team to shame

Posted by Wow on 31/7/2022, 20:06:03, in reply to "Re: Puts the England men's team to shame "

Just saying that in 2018 and 2020 (2021), I wouldn't define the men's performance as failure. Just because they didn't win anything doesn't mean failure. Definition of failure, for me, is not always black and white. In the Euros England were expected to get to the semi-finals and in 2018 some thought they wouldn't even get out of the group. They exceeded expectations. Is that failure?

Would you describe Luton's season last season as a failure? We didn't win anything, didn't get promoted but does that mean we failed?

I agree with you that, apart from 1990, the national team did fail from 1970 to 2016
