Is that dig about Covid the first thing that popped into your mind after reading the article?

        Obsessed.

Very well crafted, that original Parliamentary Review. And well worth reminding ourselves that we have something very special at our club and for the town.

i am watching the Paul Merson documentary, blimey, this is very sad indeed. He is talking to other gambling addict's families who have lost family members to suicide because of gambling.
my point is. the club's stance on gambling should be held up as an example to all and the reason not to allow gambling companies to sponsor sport.

Well said. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch that yet, but I will. Some absolutely heart wrenching family tragedies occur because of gambling, yet it has become a free for all and is practically omnipresent. I know drink, drugs etc do the same but they're not advertised all around like betting. And anyhow that is no reason for football not to take a stance against betting. Others will, I know and respect, disagree.

Nick makes good points below too (hold on, I'm not supposed to say that am I Nick! 🙂 )

Although at the other end of the scale, newcastle fans seem delighted at losing their club in exchange of trophies (same way as the scum were delighted at losing their club in exchange for still no trophies). Now effectively owned by the saudi government. On the human rights issue one supporter said "well its not exactly as if mike ashley was a saint in that respect". Because zero hour contracts and beheading people are EXACTLY the same thing...

The Newcastle news even made it on to LinkedIn . Absolutely embarrassing so called professional people waxing lyrically about the takeover and “ best day of my life “ was a common theme .
Ashley’s crime ( Newcastle not other stuff ) was he wasn’t prepared to lose millions on selling the club , doesn’t sound unreasonable to me .
Unfortunately I now hope they do really badly .

Think he had made a few suspect decisions (8 year contract for Purdew, renaming St James park the sports direct arena etc), falling out with a couple of managers. But clubwise nothing like as bad as some of the owners we have suffered. And yes you arent alone in hoping it goes quite badly. i`m sure they will win some trophies, rival the scum in manager turnover etc and suddenly find st james park full of daytrippers

I'm pretty sure Mike Ashley would behead employees if he thought he'd get away with it and it'd improve his profits.

It would save paying the minimum wage to them.

Why are you so against the minimum wage, I thought that was one of the positive aspects of the Blair legacy?

I'm not against it. Why would you think I am?
It is an excellent thing, only surpassed by the Real Living Wage, which Luton were the first football club to pay to all employees.

It was a tongue in cheek response to Neutral Observer's post, which was similarly lighthearted.

                            Ok thanks.

I don't think Luton pay the Real Living Wage to all employees though, I'd imagine most of the players and management earn somewhat more.

Perhaps I should have said non-football-related positions, if you want to pick nits.
