Jerome said the knee wasn't doing anything to help with racism ?

He is probably correct. In fact some people will boo the knee, and see it as a dividing line. Or a symbol of black supremacy. Therefore the knee could in fact cause people to "take sides". So in that respect it wont help. Racism is highlighted by forcing people to recognise skin colour. Not by ignoring it.

We have a gesture of respect and tolerance.

Its designed to reinforce the message without anyone feeling the need to boo.

          Pointless argument.

Why is it always a pointless discussion, players Come and go,fans are mostly the same year in year out ,arnt the fans important?

That wasn't the pint I was making.

Players are`nt saying don`t take the knee. Fans would be divided which would lead to bad publicity. We already do enough to say we are against all forms of discrimination. Insisting on taking the knee is demanding a gesture some fans will object to and boo. Surely you can see that what we do is a better option? Or would you rather see the clubs name potentially dragged through the mud so you can feel vindicated when there is no need?

And that is why its a pointless discussion. The club are already making a pre match gesture to show they are against all forms of discrimination. In a way no one can argue against on moral grounds. Its sensible and nothing to do with players coming or going.

Who knows, it has to be a joint decision.
