I'm losing track of where we are with this. Can anyone interpret this and explain where the 9 points comes into play please...

The 9 point deduction is if they're found to have breached FFP. They've been told to redo their accounts in the same way as every other club from 2015-2018. And if they breach, which they probably will, it's a further 9 points.

My understanding, which may be incorrect as I haven't looked into this for a while, was that Derby's owners had agreed a 9 point deduction for the financial irregularities, but it would only have been applied once the new accounts had been submitted and scrutinised. Trouble is, the owners who agreed the deduction are effectively no longer the owners, and neither the administrators nor a prospective new owner are likely to agree to the punishment. So it's a mess.

Found the following regarding the 9 points:

It is understood a nine-point deduction has been agreed, with a further three-point deduction suspended for a period of two years, during which Derby must adhere to an agreed business plan.

It is not known whether this settlement will be enforced as the administrators are unlikely to agree to the plan, and any new owner would have to submit their own to the EFL as part of their purchase.

            So it's a mess

And therefore an opportunity for WR's Derby to get out of the 9 point deduction altogether and only have the 12.

            Yes, I'm cynical too.

Derby's owners have agreed a 9 point deduction, ffs, things have changed since we got shafted.
Their finances must be on another level to be hiding them this long.

Call me cynical but the one thing in their favour is that they are not Luton.
