    Saw David Hockney wandering around taking photos of the art work with a very small camera.

          I didn't he was talking with another person and I didn't want to intrude.
          I know he does a lot of work using digital cameras and although photography is banned at the museum he must of had special permission.

            He's got a thing about how the camera can't truly capture what is seen by the eye. I think he has spent a lot of time trying to find a way to take photos that more closely resemble how we see. Decent artist, prefer his early work and his California period to his current stuff though.

              Yes agree the Californian swimming pool paintings Splash etc, and the famous Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy the cat spring to mind.
