No Potts in either team? Reckon he'll almost certainly start the season at LB

          Let's hope not.
He's definitely the weak point in the team when he plays.

I rate Potts much more at centre-half than left-back. I just think Naismith has to be involved somewhere. Thatís nothing against Potts, whoís been solid.
But the fact he (imo) canít get into a 22-man squad shows how good our recruitment seems to have been.

Iím afraid to say Potts is lightweight at this level - hoping bell or naimsmith start ahead of him

Naismith better than Potts going forward but weaker as a full back and I can't recall Naismith getting many headers in the opponent's box.

                  Does Potts these days?

Have never understood the lack of belief in Potts but i guess it's all about opinions and we cant all be right all the time.

I didn't mean to run him down completely but at times (admittedly at a lower level) he used to be utterly awesome in the opponents' penalty area. Just can't remember him doing much of that in his recent appearances.

I think Potts is solid enough defensively but if he's not producing those attacking headers I don't think he offers a huge amount going forwards.

I have noticed that at LB Naismith can be caught out by a diagonal ball over his head.

Don't really recall Potts being caught out by those types of balls.

I'm not sure that, at LB, either is the answer really but they are both good cover. I would think this Jamaican lad will be first choice LB.

Makes me wonder if there is room in the squad for both Naismith and Potts. Both can cover lb/cb but are probably not starters in either. Given the size of our squad I wouldn't be surprised if Potts went. Given the choice I'd keep Naismith as he's better, imo, at both positions plus he can play about 9 others.

Think I'd agree with most of that. At CB Naismith is very accomplished with the ball which I think is something Jones wants from them.

I wonder if Naismith will end up a bit like Jake Howells, "good enough" to cover multiple positions but never quite making any his own.

I think he'll always rack up appearances as he's always a good option on the bench but as you say not really a specialist in any position.

I agree with you re, him being good on the ball bringing it out of defence. One of the reasons I'd prefer Naismith to Potts I think.

I'm surprised to see Howells end up at Kings Langley...I always thought he was good enough for at least the conference.

                              Agreed on all counts.

I thought Jake would do better, seemed a really genuine guy too. At times he looked really good for us, I certainly remember that 3-0 demolition of Wimbledon where he played central midfield and played a blinder. Oddly never to be played there again as far as I saw.

Agreed. Unfortunately Potts appears to be one of the God botherers favoutites though so purely for that reason I think he's here to stay.

New to hear but I would put nailsmith in front of the back line as when he is on the ball moving forward he can hit a pass or two . A great signing for me .
