EFL back down again and let them sign out of contract players

Are they actually backing down though? I thought there were certain exceptions to transfer embargos, such as being able to sign players (without paying a fee) if you have fewer than a certain number of senior pros. Is it just the standard rules being applied, or has something different happened in this case?

If you read the full article they fielded a lot of youth players against chorley because of covid, which makes them senior players included in the 23 players allowed,so they asked fo the ruling to be waved to allow them to sign free agents

tbf I think it is reasonable, given they were put between a rock and a hard place for the FA cup game against Chorley.

Doesn't excuse all the other stunts they've pulled though!

Now, now, we can't have a "massive" club like Derby being put in an impossible situation.
