    Goals and Team Selection

Posted by Hatter Mad on 19/7/2021, 10:45:30

We need to score 20 more goals this season to reach the playoffs than last season.

So far we have scored a reasonable amount against the opposition but have scored a lot of varied goals.

The options we have available that can easily fit into our style of play given our fluidity in changing formations are exciting.

If opposing defenses sit deep we now have CMG who can score from range. If they press us we have pace to beat them. If they play narrow and force us wide we can cross and have the areial threat. If they dont we have good dribblers and midfield runners to exploit the spaces inbetween. As well as set piece goals.

Realistically we should be able to score in any match which is a great thing to have within the team as it increases the belief of winning and comebacks.

My preference as a starting eleven would be to play CMG as a 10 and lose the DM in front of the back four. The team/formation will tailor itself to opponents but as a starting point, my preference is the below.

    Sluga

    Bree Burke Bradley Potts

    Campbell Lansbury

    CMG

    (Cornick/Clarke) Adebayo Fred

Campbell and Lansbury still abit of an unknown will they work ? Rea , morell ? What's going on , we certainly have options ,that had to be positive , need to play some better teams so we can suss the better players and formation to suit.
