As mentioned treat it as asbestos which is perfectly safe in situ. Aslong as it is not damaged leave alone. If you need to move it get in touch with council as they will do it.

Thanks chaps. Problem is there are bits and pieces crumbling so I may have to get it done. I'm not sure the council do privately owned property either. I'm not 100% sure it is asbestos and the house was built in the 1930s.

Pretty sure Jordan Reynolds promotes one of his sponsors that deals with asbestos disposal/removal.

If you have social media maybe drop him a message.

Looks suspiciously like asbestos to me.

Remember the chemistry labs at school when we used asbestos mats pretty much every lesson without batting an eyelid? Looks very much like the stuff I remember using (although obviously our mats were flatand not corrugated).

Same as my mum's shed roof. It's white asbestos. It was as bad as your's and hadn't been cleaned in decades. Chose a breezeless day last summer in the lockdown. Wearing a full asbestos kit my sister organised, brushed off the moss. Used a chemical cleaner to kill the moss. Then lightly washed off with a garden hose, but I made a temporary gutter to run the sludge into a 20 gallon drum which was then disposed of appropriately via my sister's company. Lastly both repaired damage similar to your's and then covered the entire roof using a glass fibre kit I purchased for the repair and to seal the entire roof. Finally used a bitumen based paint as a top coat to cover it. Including new soffits, about £85.00.

My younger sister works in the waste industry. Her company wanted almost £900.00 to remove the roof and cleanup. Couldn't justify that cost to our 86 year old mother.

                      Agree it looks like asbestos.

The council may have a page on how to safely dispose of it.
