    Gary Lineker

From hero to zero. Memories of those great footballing days have now gone as he has descended into being a complete cock.

I thought BBC presenters had to keep their opinions to themselves.

Donít know what he has said but I can tell you on very good authority and from several different sources GL is a total wrogun . He has had managed to suppress countless complaints from make up women , physios and other females he has come into contact with . Last few years he has learnt to behave and says what he thinks is politically correct .
Met him a couple of times and several England players who played with him totally despise him .

Bless you. Another faceless cowardly snide comment from you. Mindless and inaccurate too, but best of all unwittingly 100% ironic.

You should perhaps stick to your regular input, which is posting absolute bollocks about transfers etc in a desperate (and amusingly sad) attempt to gain some perceived kudos by claiming to be 'in the know'.

This is, after all, in your own words 'a football page'. Quite what you mean by 'page' in this context is not clear, as this is in fact a message board, but I guess it's too much to expect clarity from you. Enjoy your day, this whole thread has amused me - so thanks for your part in it!

Probably, like most of his sort, he's actually very scared and confused.

All of the certainties myths that he's been force fed for the last 30-40 years are being slowly exposed as the lies they are, the world is changing faster than the little lizard brain can turn over and hence we are getting all of this nonsense about 'woke' this, 'snowflake' that. It's laughable, but it means we've got 10-20 years of this crap before the current ruling generation die out and we get some normality back.

Unfortunately there's going to be a lot of scorched earth in the meantime.

Completely leaden-footed. Even watching Brehme's deflected goal for Germany it looked like Shilton had concrete boots on

I can't recall if we had subs left in the 119th minute in Turin in 1990 but why didn't Robson bring Beasant on for the pens?

In 1986, Maradona cheated, of course, but even then Shilton shouldn't have been beaten to the ball

Luton regularly scored loads against him in his Soton days

Yet he won shit loads of caps so what the fukk do I know?

Still should have bought Woods on then. I thought, though, you could name all 23 squad members on the bench and pick from the lot (was it 3 subs in those days?)

Don't disagree, he was past his best. However, he made a string of world class saves in the final qualifier away to Poland (0-0) and sealed our passage to the finals.

I think it was Tim Breacker what done 'im.

I'm sure I saw a documentary on 1990 where there was a comment from one of the England players from that squad saying they knew they would lose at penalties because they all knew Shilts never saved any.

Hadn't realised that but it doesn't surprise me in the slightest

I reckon a part of the reason the players insisted we went 5 at the back in 1990 was because they knew they had to give the leaden lump more protection

The funny thing was that every time we lashed in a goal past him from 25 yards+ the commentator would say, "You don't often see Shilton beaten from there!" when in fact he was beaten from range regularly.

That 30-yarder that Breacker scored on that amazing, hot day in Derby in 1990 was typical of Shilton's speed of reaction and his utterly shite footwork that made it look like he was standing in wet cement

One of England's most-capped players. Baffling
