I went to sheringham a few days ago and said it was rowdy, i was joking, it was very civilised but i preferred cromer up the road. Lovely seafront and had nice fish and chips at mary Anne's. I prefer the south coast though

I just find Sheringham and Cromer very busy during school holidays. I spend my summers in Mundesley just down the coast and will be venturing into Cromer next week for the obligatory visit to Hatters tea shop when all the riff raft go home.

Sheringham is a lovely little place but not much to do.

Cromer has more to do but isn't as nice on the whole.

Mary Janes, (not Annes), has gone downhill over the years imo. No. 1 is much better. Not cheap but the portions are enormous.

The advantage Cromer has over Sheringham is the pier, but the individually owned shops on Sheringham High Street are wonderful, Blyth and Wright in particular is a haven for anyone into DIY or gardening.

The fact that there's always a queue at No 1 tells you all you need to know about the quality of the fish and chips.

If you like a larger portion then (oh err mrs) Fish and Fry at Mundesley does monster size fish, unfortunately not open currently due to a fire a couple of week ago.

Went to get fish and chips there yesterday, closed as you say.
Went down the coast to Walcott and found a sit down cafe with a good menu. Great staff very clean and covid friendly. Called The Kingfisher Fish Bar.

Eric's at Thornham does great fish and chips but pretty pricey.
