Not the sort of bet that Coral would normally offer. They don't even seem to be offering odds for our game on Tuesday yet.

Well done to the fans. Successful protest some went too far but football needs a huge kick up the arse especially the premier league!

The owners have gone too far.
This is a watershed moment in English football there has got to be change.
You can only imagine what would have happened if supporters were in the ground.
However the spin has already started about hooligans.

Peaceful display from their fans and something they felt they had to do, which I think is agreeable to all football fans. People like the Glazers need leave these shores.

Hats off to Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher for some harsh words against these owners wanting a superleague.

Is trespassing on private property as well as breaking COVID restrictions truly “peaceful”?

Looked like a bunch of yobs to me. Many of them taking selfies as they trespassed.

Let them Cancel their season tickets and TV subscriptions if they feel so strongly

Please explain - why am I evil or vile? For suggesting they make their feelings known within the law? What’s so bad about that?

No I’m really not. Please do try to string a sentence together if you can.

Desperate Dan (as always) makes some very valid points.

It’s a really interesting one. Is it a bad thing that Gary Neville has spoken up? Probably not. Would I have preferred him to have done so rather longer ago? Absolutely I would. Does that make him wrong now? No it doesn’t. Does it make him an opportunist bandwagon-jumper? Discuss

You only saw what Sky wanted you to see.
The guy on the floor when first shown looked like he was about to be nicked. Later from another clip he was literally slam dunked to the floor by the old bill. Perspective is everything. As anyone knows going to games the police generally can't wait to start smashing heads in.

Sure I accept you think those fans were justified in their direct actions, and many times in history it has indeed been necessary to break the law in order to force necessary change

Not doubting that at all. I do question if the ends justify the means on this occasion though.

I also personally feel the protest was as much amount Man U fans specific dissatisfaction with their owners, and I wonder if they’d really be sticking up for the rest of the game if they were currently top of the league under those owners rather than being utterly eclipsed by their city rivals.

+1 (sort of as I don't believe these scenes today were anything to do with sticking up for the rest of the game).

There are many threads to the argument however if the game being called off puts the spot light on the owners then so be it, not too bothered if its whether they are top or not. The means justify the end.

Although I strongly disagree with the antics of the 6, had the ESL gone ahead, I believe it would have significantly levelled the playing field for our club, and indeed any club prepared to live within its means... since it would immediately have disincentivised the overspending of clubs like reading, derby & sheff weds. Parachute payments would also most likely have been drastically reduced.

It wouldn’thave been all bad for us by any means

Interesting the Carragher and Neville are not condemning the protest, despite being invited to. In fact, every invite they are upping the position.

Some idiots as with every club, including ours. But the groundswell of opinion is behind the message of the protest.

Sometimes direct action is the only way. Private property interesting. The generations of supporters who have built these clubs up would probably argue that the stadiums are definitely not private property but belong to the supporters of those clubs.

Apart from you do realise that it is in fact private property and there is no argument to suggest otherwise.
