How the **** can that man get on his high horse whilst holding a microphone with sky sports plastered all over it?!!!!

Disagree. Bravo him for speaking out especiallyon the platform he has. About time the money side of the game was talked about in mainstream broadcasting.

By the way Sky TV may dole out the broadcasting cash but football can still decide to share that wealth just a little more equitably. Sky don't tell football how to use that money

If anyone is hypocritical it's the Premier League itself

Perhaps, having been happy for many years to take the glazersí money, he has genuinely latterly realised itís all gone too far?

Or it could instead be that the antics of the greedy 6 mostly threaten the business models of the other PL14, the majority of championship clubs who are willing to run at enormous losses to chase the dream, oh and of course worst affected of all from a financial perspective would have been the current PL rights holders!

Remind me again who he works for? Does anyone REALLY believe he can empathise with the average fan? Is there anything to stop sky giving a platform on their broadcast to the football supportersí federation if they really wanted to give the fans a voice?

            Disagree

You're making a million different points here. Sky TV do not have a say on how football spends its money

I think neville speaks for fans more than any other pundit. Look at those happly clapping dicks on the beeb

Sky TV gave shot loads of publicity to fans groups linked to those 6 and the fsa as they're now known when the esl story broke

You've obviously got a bee in your bonnet about sky TV.

He is way out of touch in reality, he spoke about how much money the Premier League filters down to the EFL but neglected to mention that a very large chunk of this is the parachute payments.

All I've heard him say is that more wealth should cascade down the leagues. He said it again today

He's advocating legislation and regulation of the game to save it from itself

He doesn't run Salford as such. He's a front man, not the main man

Don't know why people get so triggered at him for saying what he's saying and having an opinion. If he wasn't speaking out he'd get criticised for that too

He has a voice that is amplified by his profile and his platforms. Seems he's trying to use that for, basically, good intentions

Whys it taken him till now to bang on about the wealth moving through the leagues.
He's a hypocrite, happy to take the big money when he was a player while clubs struggled in the lower leagues.

So when he was a player he should have spoken out about his good wages and money at the top because he should have known that, in the future, he would become disillusioned or concerned about where the game is going and want to speak out about it?

Anyway, aren't you allowed to change your views over time? He acknowledges that he's done well out of the game (probably not as well as players over the last 10 years). He was offered contracts in his time that paid him well. So what? Why does that disallow him from having a view?

It's easy to level hypocrisy at people but can I ask you one question - what is he saying that you disagree with?

Dont disagree with what he's saying one bit, but coming from him a multi millionaire thanks to the greed of his club, agent etc, he's the last bloke I'll listen to.
The ESL is no different to the Prem or Champions league, he would have been on board if he was still a player simply for the money.

                      I couldn't disagree more

Why wouldn't you listen to him cos he's got a few quid? I can never understand that

Players, although choosing their words carefully, were speaking against the esl when the story broke so not sure why you think neville would've been all for it. You're just guessing

The prem greed is shit and I call out their hypocrisy on this very thread but the prem is nothing like the esl.

And, while we're on the prem, cos Luton voted for its creation aren't we being hypocritical by moaning about it?

                        Kholer voted for it!
I doubt anyone was aware back then how big the gap would get and clubs would disrespect the FA Cup/League Cup etc.
I've hardly heard of any players speaking up against the ESL, they follow the money tree, always have.

If you haven't heard players speaking out against it you ain't been paying attention. Miller and Henderson for 2

Kohler was representing the club therefore we voted for it. We didn't know how the prem would turn out? No and nor did neville know where football would be headed by the late 2010s/2020s when he was a player daring to make a good living out of the game in the 90s and 00s

You say yourself you don't disagree with what he's said so I don't know what the issue is. I don't agree with Boris Johnson most of the time but I do agree with him when he talks about the importance of tackling climate change. I don't sneer at his message on that just because I'm not a fan of his. I think it's a good thing that he is concerned about that issue

True, But it's the TV money they are trying to get their greedy paws on. I know that's not Sky's fault but it's all part of the bigger problem.

Totally agree. Sky money should benefit the whole of football from grass roots to PL.

                    Yup

Last week the Premier announced that Norwich and the filth's second batch of scheduled parachute payments would be shared amongst prem clubs

What a good bit of PR for the prem if they had donated that cash to kids football or the national league or even leagues 1 and 2. Sky didn't tell the Prem to do that. For the prem to call the 'big 6' greedy is outrageous

Maybe it is but there is quite a leap from the Premier League and what they do to what the greedy six were planning.

I cling to the hope that this will see Premier League fans wake up to just what type of people have got hold of their clubs and what they are doing with them.
