    Electrical question

Posted by Hatsworth on 2/5/2021, 9:09:24

The kids had a remote controlled car which has a Rechargeable battery pack made up of 4aaa batteries. This unit is removed from the car and charges from a wire on a usb socket.

Itís broken. If, as seems likely, they have jammed the charger in the wrong way around (positive to negative) would that break the batteries, the charger or neither?

    Thanks outlaws.

The reversed polarity on the rechargeable batteries will either damage the batteries themselves by over heating or the charging unit, more than likely the batteries are f*caked so will more thank likely need replacing but the charging unit should have a polarity or thermal cut out which should save the electronic components inside! Hope that helps/makes sense! COYH
