On a more positive note has our club had as many internationals in one squad as we have at present. Superb work Nathan and 2020.

Just a guess but mid 80s? Stein, Walsh, Harford, Donaghy, Nicholas? I'm sure Outsider will correct me

According to Simon Pitts, it is the first time that we have had five play in one international break.

I suppose that it depends on how you define internationals - is it anyone who has won a cap at any time or just current internationals.

Although not playing for us at the moment, Shinnie is also an international.

Emeka played for Nigeria at the same time.

In 86/87 season the squad contained 9 players who had been, were, or would be,full internationals.

We had some intermittent international players back then....but not established ...
Mick should have gone to the Euros 88...
Ricky should have played a lot more, as should have Bruno.

We were a force ...today's boys ARE established

A biased opinion maybe but I think Tim Breaker would have got full England caps had he been with a 'big' club.

Yeh you’re right that probably is a bit biased.

He was deemed good enough for England 'B'.

And Gary Stevens was hardly world class.

Feel free to name a better right back at the time...

Paul Parker and Lee Dixon. Both better but Tim definitely deserved at least one cap.
