    Broadband and tv deals

    Posted by Since 85 on 17/10/2020, 12:02:57

I've lived without a tv for about 15yrs and can't say i've really missed it, but in the near future am thinking of getting a new place and will need broadband. My question is this, once signed up to the broadband contract can i add in the tv bit before that contract expires without being charged a penalty. I'm guessing no, so how much is the penalty likely to be? Fairly obscure question i know, so thanks in advance if you can help.

have been on talktalk for years, never a problem, never a complaint, great price for approximately 35mb download and 10mb upload. If you wish to record then add a talktalk box which also gives you access to sky channels on a monthly basis. Well worth you considering.

Get free view. Over 100 channels. Perfect if you're not bothered about sky etc.

If I buy a smart tv but only get broadband can i link the tv to the wifi signal to pick up live tv for bbc itv and ch4? Even without a freeview box? Sorry if stupid question but like i say haven't missed not having tv for ages and not convinced it will be worth paying an extra 35 a month as part of a broadband/tv deal

            Yes.

You will have access to BBC iPlayer/4od/ITV Hub (the online version of the channels plus catch up etc) plus freeview channels.

From what you're saying that sounds like your best bet. Smart TV, connect to the internet, get freeview and the aforementioned online offerings and other than a TV licence you wont be paying a penny for tv channels.

You could also get the now tv app on your TV which would let you buy day passes for sport if you wanted to

If you argue and barter hard enough with these broadband providers they usually do a deal especially if you say someone else offered you a free this or that
