2-0 up i think through john taylor
        3-2 down
late equaliser after preecey converted his onw pen rebound.

Wasnt a bad man united team in retrospect

Keane was at United as he joined 93/94 but not convinced he played

Yeah just checked date of the testimonial. Slightly later than i thought. But yep dont remember him playing. Think the pre match hype was about "cole, hughes and giggs". Certainly no cole or giggs. hughes not sure. NIcky butt i think played. Sharpe i def remember did as he seemed to have a bunch of screaming teenagers behind me whenever he touched the ball. Also the faintly revolting sight of a dad getting out of teh car in a Luton top with his kids getting out in that tesco value carrier bag man united away top

Think the kids included Lee Sharpe (one of the bigger names at the time), Paul scholes. Possibly beckham or neville as well

It was on TV and the attendance was pretty poor.

And then we beat them the following season, live on telly again.

Was at KR in 1957 with my dad and saw the Busby babes on Boxing Day. We drew 2-2. Just checked - attendance over 26,000. We were at the bottom of the main stand and us lads were carried over shoulders out of the swaying crowd to sit by the wall next to the pitch.

Great days when we fancied our chances against any of the big names. BUT, those days aside, terrific what the Town have done to get them back again.

My brother and I had a similar experience a year later (our first attendance at a Town game). It was late in the 1957/8 season, a few months
                  after Munich.
The ManUre team was padded out with various "emergency" transfers and borrowed players, so that they could field a full 11. One of the
post-Munich additions was "Pancho" Pearson (formerly at Sheffield Wednesday), most notable for his hairdo and sideburns,
rather than his football skills. He scored the only goal in the second half, in a game where a draw would have been a more fair result.
It was a massive crowd (in the days ot the open, unroofed Kenilworth End, and before the beach huts), and our only chance of seeing the game
was provided by the obliging home fans in the Enclosure, who handed the two of us down over all the heads, so that we could
watch from near the boundary fence.

As I stated below, our games against United in 1957/58 were on Christmas Day and Boxing Day - both before Munich.

The following season's game at Kenilworth Road was a goalless draw so the first United goal at KR after Munich wasn't until April 1960 and that was a 3-2 win for them so not the only goal (or are you saying that it was 2-2 at half time).

United didn't win 1-0 at Luton between 1899 and 1990.

Mark Pancho Pearson was already on United's books well before Munich although he only made his debut after that. He joined Wednesday from United rather than the other way round.

maybe wrong but didn`t the Busby babes play at the Kenny the week before Munich?

No, Boxing Day 1957 - Old Trafford the previous day - our last Christmas Day game.

The week before Munich they won 5-4 at Highbury.
