    Cambridge bus lane update

    Found this:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cambridgeindependent.co.uk/news/amp/1-8m-fines-for-drivers-straying-into-bus-lanes-9081150/

So if they send me a fine i can argue that there were no prohibition signs on the route i took, possibly other signage that isn't in the highway code therefore unclear as to its meaning and in the first instance they should be sending a warning letter rather than a fine.

I think that may have been the starting point for the successful group action I mentioned in Manchester. Sadly, you'll probably get ignored or blandly brushed off as an individual - those weasel words from the council spokesperson in the article are indicative of their mindset. The location they show is a classic - lots and lots of 'out of towners' will be going to the station to pick up/drop off in an unfamiliar situation and not have a clue about what the signage means. Bus gate??? I have to go that way down Station Road to get to one of my usual destinations nearby and if I missed my left turn I'd be stuffed. It all worked perfectly well before they put the new system in: it's a clear cash cow.

All comes down to the Tories cutting funding in the long run of course....

Surely Brexit is another big factor.
