The extension is specific to Luton (and certain other areas) - the general lifting of shielding from tomorrow still applies although I know several people that don't plan to change anything yet including Mrs Outsider.

        That wasn’t confirmed was it?

BBC suggested it would be but wasn’t mentioned?

Can't see fans back in football grounds by October.

And yet the Scots suggested fans could be back in their grounds 14th September yesterday.

On the subject of Luton Covid figures the town is no longer in the the top 5 affected areas, which it was last week.
Now out of the top 15.
Council expected to announce soon (maybe after Eid !)

Just seen reduction of local restrictions is today's Council email to residents.

We can still have daily posts about who should be allowed in in October though, yeah?

Bit worrying that the heat was supposed to kill the virus.

Not gonna be as hot as this in October.

            Not a chance.

            Nor should there be, unfortunately.

Are you affected by the reintroduced lockdown rules?

In my opinion October was always very optimistic even before recent spikes.

Yep. Bit of a bugger not being able to go to friends for dinner now and then but otherwise I (and most I know here) have been following the advice anyhow and saw this coming as soon as restrictions were relaxed.

Went for a long walk yesterday (15 miles!) and on the way back passed my (awful) local pub. Packed outside with people transparently not giving a toss about distancing. No idea what it was like inside - no intention of finding out!

                      😂😂😂 cheeky bugger!

I've been doing at least 6-10 miles a day since this all started, I know every blade of grass in the local park and am on talking terms with all the trees, squirrels and ducks! It hasn't got to me at all...

You were only supposed to be out for an hour at the beginning.

I think most governments seem to be fooling themselves. Very few got infection rates down to where they stood a reasonable chance of being in full control again before exiting lockdown and most are seeing a rise in cases again. I hope this all works but given how utterly stupid significant parts of the human race are behaving in this situation I can't see an end to it before a vaccine is (hopefully) found, manufactured and distributed.

...but, even then, there would be a lot who don't want to take the vaccine.
