Talking about Stevo. I see he is now Scouting Manager at Everton.

An all time favourite and a class act, just a shame we lacked his quality elsewhere and that Crewe game....

I used to love SD. Honest pro. Very timid guy off the pitch.

Remember that goal v Rock bottom Hull in the cup, humiliating defeat at the time. They were on the way to the conference (but stayed up)

Didnít he get double figures in one season for us ?

Does anyone else remember the goal he scored at Wrexham, must have been about 97. superb, it was almost him playing on his own the rest of the side didn't seem up for it

95-96 when we came so close to automatic promotion and then lost to Crewe in the play off semi.

So what was his significance in the Crewe game? (And which one are you talking about - away or home?)

I couldn't believe it after the home match. I was the last fan to leave the stadium. :-(

My point around Crewe is that had we got promoted it would have been richly deserved by Davis who was a magnificent footballer and leader.

I felt for him when many around him that evening seemed to freeze.

Awful ref too as I recall.

We took years to recover from that promotion failure.

Lennie was popular that season and never regain his standing with our support.

Thing that pi55ed me off the most was our support in the last 20min of that match, everyone just seemed to give up, i couldn't understand it at all and still don't thinking about it.

YOu did think a corner was almost as a good as penalty with him in the box
