    Good news

Posted by Kenny Roader on 20/5/2020, 23:43:55

There have been zero new Covid19 cases in London and the South East in the last 24 hours. There has to be a strong case for optimism that this will have blown over soon, or by the start of next season and life and football will be back to normal without the imposition of Lockdown and social distancing.

I admire your optimism but life won’t get back to normal any time soon do you think people still have the same amount of money to travel to watch football

Trying to find some optimism from somewhere and I might be clutching at straws but I wish you well and pray that things will get better soon for our club and all our sakes.

It can not 'blow over'. The virus can not just disappear. Unless some forms of social distancing remain in place it will come back. We went from no infections to 35,000 to 50,000 dead in four months. The same process will happy again with no social distancing (back in the Kenny, beach, pub) and we will just repeat the cycle of deaths/ lock down /relaxation until there is either a vaccine or treatments.

Things will loosen up, some businesses will reopen, but don't expect a huge change from where we are now just because people stop dying. They will just as easily start dying again too.

There is no evidence that there will be a second wave of infections. Some experts say there will and some say there won't. I hope it is the latter. However, it will be right to proceed with caution but we will eventually be able to open up if things go well.

No evidence. Maybe think for a minute why University of Cambridge, whose academics sit on Sage, are leading research into Vaccine, and understand as much about the virus as anyone, are moving large (100+)lectures online until at least June 2021....

Are they the experts who caused a world lockdown and panic when we were told to expect 500,000 deaths in the UK?

Don't be an idiot. Do you really believe that the lockdown, the biggest restriction of movement ever undertaken, has literally had no impact on transmission. And deaths? Seriously? Are you saying you are that pig shit ignorant that we'd have had the same number of deaths if we'd done nothing? 500,000 deaths was what would have happened without 9 weeks of lockdown- the fact we've only had 10% of that is because of what we are doing right now. Be as controversial as you like, you ain't going to the pub(inside),or the Kenny this side of 2021.

Expect the number of infections to rise exponentially in about 10 days time.
The Govt advise will have helped spread the virus.

Went for a walk tonight and ended up in London Fields.

Absolute madness. The hipsters seem to have spent the whole day drinking in the sun. Loads of places serving takeout beer. Thought I'd stumbled on a music festival.

Don't really blame the govt. for that. They probably credited the public with some common sense for some reason.

Basically the govt. is paying young people to sit in the sun together drinking together all day, indefinitely.
