    Business loans

Interest free business loan for businesses said Mr Sunak.

It appears he forgot to tell the banks this.

Banks are now saying that the minimum loan amount is £25,000 and if you want less than this then they can arrange an overdraft with fees and interest.

They also can't give you a loan as you have forecast no income for the next 3 months..

Not being funny but why would a bank take on a risk just on the whim of the government? I assumed the government were underwriting the exposure?

They are, underwriting 80% of exposure. The problem seems to be that rather than offering the government backed CBIL loans, certain banks are trying to force applicants to take out their own products.

Would you lend money without assurances?

You always pay something for a loan, you won’t get free handouts.

Your failure to understand, or to have read about it before responding, is entirely predictable. You really are a complete plank Alhatter.

I doubt the spastic could run a bath, let alone a business.

Probably because you arent trying to keep a business running in these unprecedented times, you self-centred, thoughtless, uncaring idiot.

Neither am I but I at least understand what I post about. You seem to always be in need of attention.

The response seems to vary from bank to bank:

Barclays has told customers they will be required to sign personal guarantees to access the government-supported emergency finance. And HSBC told the BBC it will require a form of personal guarantee for loans over £100,000.

However, Royal Bank of Scotland, which also owns NatWest, has confirmed it will offer business interruption loans without asking business owners for personal guarantees - proving that more generous terms can be offered.

The other banks will now come under pressure from business customers to copy RBS.

I hope that the public in general remember how some of these big businesses behave during this time: both good and bad.

Some true colours are being shown.

Not really their fault. Some of the banks not playing ball.
