    Oxford academics

In media today stating their is a possibility that the virus has been here since mid Jan and that half the population has already had either with or without symptoms.
Guess the question would be why is the nhs & other countries health services now suddenly being overwhelmed and not from late Jan?

Mate's Dad came back from Northern Italy in the Autumn with all the symptoms. He spent 5 weeks in hospital, had all the tests but they could not find out what it was.

Italy did send a team to the Wuham Military World Games in October http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Military_World_Games but so did lots of other countries so all guesswork.

because it was in a few people in january, the virus then spreads by doubling every few days. The government s refusal to test, test test is the major problem.
They aren't even testing DRs and nurses ! They aren't even protecting DRs and nurses from contamination ! They then pass it on to patients....
Boris really fukked up again, mind you he will manage to dodge any blame (like always)

Quote from press, bit pompous, but apt don’t you think?

Question away by all means. And rightly so.

Unfortunately the poster I was replying to wasn't questioning anything.

If you don't understand why they've done things the way they have then you should do some research.

They are far from perfect and the non clarity over the building trade is an example of that but these are unprecedented times, it was never going run perfectly

I have done research and I come from a medical/pharmaceutical background, thank you. The government response has been pathetic

The government can only act on the advice given to them by the medical and scientific experts, and what's right at one time in one country is not necessarily the same here.So Markus get off your Labour party bandwagon and smell the coffee!

i fully appreciate your area of experience, but can your comment regarding our government's response be leveled at every countries government around the world?

                          If you say so.

It's very easy to sit and be critical when we are not in their shoes.

still 100s of flights coming in at heathrow etc. No one is tested, and the 1000s of people then cross infect the population. If one person has cv , every one on the flight will have cv after a 10 hour flight (the air gets circulated throughout the cabins without any proper filtration.
If BoJo had stopped the flights one month ago who know where we would be now (exceptions for repatriation and emergency supplies with passengers having to self isolate for 2 weeks ....plus)

I don't think that's 100% right. Saw a Sky interview with a woman stuck in Cambodia. She needed a test done and medical certificate before she could fly. She queued up for a test but they sent her away so she's stuck - I did wonder if she had paid the right fees/bribe.

I saw that myself. Although, if I heard correctly, she'd been in Cambodia for 2 weeks. Which begs the question, why go there at that point?

Some people are making ridiculous choices and of course it's not their fault - it's everyone else's fault.

Very interesting. I was very ill in January with the symptoms and it took weeks to get over.

                  Makes you wonder.....
