    Self employed

A sensible solution might be that they should be treated the same as other business ie 80% of wages upto 2.5k per month based on last years tax return. Obviously need to find a solution for new sole traders.

I'm not quite sure everyone is grasping the workers thing though.

It's 80 per cent of wages who are kept on but unable to do any work.

Hence I guess why companies like Pret decided to close yesterday.

It doesn't mean that companies can't make staff redundant etc. or ask them to take pay cuts., if they are still able to work.

It just covers sectors where it's impossible to work right now.

Lots of companies in other sectors are struggling but can still function.

There will still be lots of job losses. So theh can't really prop up wveey self-employed person too.

80 per cent of wagas for workers who are kept on it unable to do any works that should read etc..eg pub workers. But it doesn't mean every pub worker will get that.

And as far as I know if you are getting that 80 per cent you are not allowed to do any work for your employer during this period at all.

The government aren't just offering to pay 80 per cent of everyone's wages, as some people seem to think.

Regardless, somehow this money will need to be payed back. The 2008 financial crisis will seem like a walk in the park...globally there is going to be bloodshed on a level never seen by our generation...only China will come out victorious, I just hope some crazy president (Boris) doesn’t decide to invade to keep their country afloat.
