View from a non-football fan steward from Saturday

Interesting, unusual blog from a neutral, non-football fan who was a steward in the Cardiff end on Saturday. Skip the first eight or so paragraphs until Scarlet gets to the ground.
Pop trivia: Scarlet is the girlfriend of Soft Cell keyboard player Dave Ball. (Dave is a mutual friend and a fantastic gossip, so please be kind in your comments!)

There's a fine of £30 if you don't turn up or even if you call in sick for a shift.

How is it legal to fine someone for reporting sick?

It would be nice if the club weren't associating with rackets like that.

        Anyone that posts on here?

"It could only have been about fifteen minutes after kick off when an extremely paralytic man went up to the hot dog stand. I remember looking at him and wondering how he'd actually got into the game in the state he was in. He must have been in his early sixties and was wearing a Harrington and a Burberry baseball cap. Anyway, I didn't think too much of it and continued to guard the door. All of a sudden there was a panic at the hot dog stand. The Burberry man had tried to lean in and kiss one of the hot dog girls."

Putting all of what she says to one side, I do wonder why the club are using agency staff for stewarding these days - more so in the home sections - as they seem to have caused problems that didn't exist before (if this is still the same agency).

And yes, before anyone asks, I have raised the issue and so have others!

Interesting point. It used to be the same two blokes at the Lower Kenny all last season near me. Thereís been no issues there this season, but itís not the same faces anymore.

There were some Cardiff stewards in Oak Road (the street) before the match.

Most of the stewards in our section of the Oak appear to be friendly and helpful.

            Although I'm not really a typical trouble-maker, I suppose.
