With the benefit of a good nights sleep and reflecting yesterday

Posted by Pilkinhio on 12/1/2020, 8:20:29

Jones has failed in the task given to him. Heís a good man but heís just not the right man for this challenge. I think itís obvious that he canít galvanise the team, they looked beaten today from the kick off and only looked like we turned up in the second half.

But I say heís got to go, not because of yesterday but because of the performance levels and the lack of hope he has instilled in the club. That plus his results record to date that any manager in any level of football would surely have to go.

So, poor signings, poor management, poor motivation, poor rapport with the fans, no plan and no confidence from literally anyone that he can get performances that might give us a chance of a result.

Itís not 2020ís fault, they are beyond any criticism in my book - on the face of it he looks like heís in the NJ style we all probably wanted but itís obvious itís simply not worked and itís time for a change.

Any business would have a succession plan for key positions and i think itís time to put it in place

Before itís pointed out, I accept the budget argument. This is about getting the best out of our resources available and he hasnít

      I agree 100 % ... sadly

We have got worse as the season has progressed when we should have getting better ...

Constant talk about how we are short and budget this has totally destroyed players confidence ..

Those observations should have stated in private to the board only in my opinion

Hope he turns it around But not looking good ...

To be fair to him he gets up at stupid oíclock to watch the games and is a real Town fan.

I donít believe Jones should go. Itís just ####ing hard watching this season.

Part of me would feel a bit of relief if he went.
But I don't think he's wholly responsible for everything. We started off the season fairly well and I was confident we'd stay up, but we've hit a horrible run largely due to not having any full backs and our centre halves not being up to it at this level.

I think that there has been a considerable under estimation by our fan base of the quality our opponents and the division. Weíre still building a club, weíve got a huge void from youth to first team, weíve got a huge difference in budget to the rest of the division, we lost our two best players. The signings weíve made have not had an impact and been affected by injuries; these signings go through our recruitment department (no one on here knows if they are on the instruction of GJ). Individual errors, repeated individual errors when we donít have a better fit replacement. If we stay up next season will be the same battle until we get a new stadium, but weíll start to lose some of our favourite players that have performed well, or show potential in t e championship. We need to to make a fight of it for personal pride. Itís too easy and simple to blame GJ, especially if the expectation is that thereís someone else out there thatís better equipped to drastically change things.

Tend to agree with most of that, we have gone backwards in the last few months. We were competing well away from home against teams like Cardiff, Fulham and even Derby except for 2 mistakes from Sluga. It seems obvious that the step up is to
much for most of the squad but surely we should defend crosses and corners between after 7 months under jones! And as for Berrys corners and free kicks yesterday, only a couple of them beat the first defender absolute rubbish.

If you look at the teams that have changed managers
a lot of them have improved with the same players. Stoke, Barnsley, Sunderland, Everton, West Ham and even Ywyfprd.

Are you going to continue with multiple posts saying basically Jones out? Must be into the dozens now.

be careful what you wish for?

                  Harford-Money-Brabin-Buckle

Would anyone argue now that we wouldn't have been better of sticking with Mick?

Those hysterical ST holders v Stevenage got their way but maybe sticking would have been better than twisting in the long run?

As I said before, no blame here for the board. Iím coming from a purely footballing perspective.

Most people who have seen most of our games will point to an alarming decline in performances and mentality that goes with it. I donít think heís our long term solution
