    Jones is not a leader

I accept we donít have the money to either buy new players or pay off Jones. So, the only way we are going to survive is if Jones can get the players and the fans galvanised, generate a never say die spirit and make us hard to beat.

The signings that were made at the start of the season have been by and large poor so we arenít going to stay up through quality alone. It has to be spirit, work-rate and confidence.

That requires a manager that can lead from the front and take responsibility when the chips are down. However, Jones is not displaying this - and I think that for many this is where our frustration with him lies.

Not normally one for getting worked up about how a manager behaves towards the fans - but today our following, particularly in the second half, were immense - and he walked off without acknowledging them. Lacked class.

Digging out Potts in the interview as strongly as he did, as he has done with other specific players previously, was poor.

Telling us that the players wanted us to know it was their fault - and by inference not his - was extraordinary.

This is after a number of other ridiculous statements and decisions heís made about players recently.

If we are stuck with Jones for the foreseeable future he needs help in this department and quickly - otherwise I can see us collapsing as a team off the pitch as quickly as we did on it today.

Heís a Coach. Not a Manager. Way too slow to deal with on field changes of tactics. The lack of pressing today was positively weird.

I haven't seen us press in any game? It's awful to watch us sitting off.

        Good post. Spot on.

Digging the players out when they need the confidence wonít help.

He's dead right to call Potts out. I've been wondering for the past few weeks if GJ actually realises how bad our defending is as he rarely seems to mention it.

But today he did. And good on him, because that was just sloppy from Potts. And with the amount of goals we've shipped this season, such an unprofessional mistake could be the reason for the subsequent downturn in our performance and thrashing.

I'm certain GJ doesn't train them to make mistakes like that. So if Potts is going to play with the recklessness/mindlessness of a lower league footballer, then that's his problem.

GJ is clearly under pressure and maybe publicly directing some of the blame to individual players might be what it needs for them to pull their fecking socks up!!

We knew we'd be up against it from the start. We needed a manager who knew how to scrap and grind out results.

But Jones was appointed before we went up??

Terrible appointment, following on from what WBA fans said about him.
Not too late to ditch him and bring another man over our immense back room assembly.

Two years ago,Potts was a Div 2 player, and not an automatic choice even then. Don't entirely blame players on the pitch for bad results, those that pick them have to be accountable too. I look forward to next Saturdays starting line-up with interest.
