We're all putting it down to a confidence issue.

What if he's just not very good?

Yeah, we never looked at him 1st, we just splashed out and hoped for the best.
He's got a concentration problem, he will come good.

Scouting a player doesn't mean every player will be good!

I hope Sluga does come good FWIW.

We just signed him cos he was staying in the hotel over the road from our training camp.

HH, that can't be the case. Croatia is rated 7th best in World by FIFA. He wouldn't be in that squad if he was no good. They have seen plenty of him.

                    He's third choice.

Croatia's ranking is a hangover from the world cup. A few key players retired after that and since then they've been a mixed bag - defeats to Tunisia and Hungary. Drawing with Azerbaijan.

The country has a population less than half of London. Maybe they don't have many good goalkeepers?

My Croatian mate texted at the time "he is a great keeper."

He watches lots of Croatian football. He was clearly highly rated in the Summer there.

Maybe Croatian club football isn't actually all that good, though?

he can't make many #### ups on the bench though can he?

He's bound to be 'rested' following his return and will have to fight for his place until Shea doesn't go for a cross and people start slagging him off instead.

This is not a Ron Greenwood situation picking Shilton and Clemence alternately. Shea is now our number one. I hope he stays there as that will mean he has played well.

Our number one is who the manager says is our number one. I want all our players to play well, including Sluga. Other players have made big errors this campaign without getting the stick Sluga's got.He was clearly at fault on Saturday, but isn't a bad keeper.
