I like Naismith but his lack of pace could kill this team. I think a pacy full-back doesn't make the two mistakes he made on Saturday. The options on both occasions were to go left and either clear the ball or go past the winger. He didn't trust his pace so elected to back for the first and go down too easily for the second.

Also, as an attacking force his lack of pace limits what we can do down the left. Lawrence will usually look to cut inside. He needs an overlapping full back to pull one of the defenders out of the middle to give him room for a shot. Naismith just can't do that these days.

I'm the same as you, I thought we could get by with what we have but now I think it could really hurt us if we don't replace.

By all means keep Naismith as a squad player because he still gives us something but unless we revert to a back three his starting days should really be over.
