    The Hatters have played 4 matches on 7th August and they were:

    A 2-1 win away at West Ham (Texaco Cup, 1974). I do wonder how many who will read my post watched a Texaco Cup game, given we only played 3 matches and 2 of those were away games ?

    A 0-0 draw away at Notts County (Division 2, 1999). A historical day for the Hatters as a midnight deal, 15 hours earlier, convinced the Football League that the new majority shareholder, Cliff Bassett and the Board had been able to put together a package that showed them that the club had the resources to be able to see us through season 1999/2000. Two players were to make their debut in this game and they were Matty Taylor and Julian Watts.

    A 2-1 win at home to Oldham (League One, 2004). Rowan Vine made his debut for the Hatters that day

    A 3-0 win at home to Peterborough (Championship, 2021). 3 players would make their debut, from the start, in this game and they were Amari’i Bell, Allan Campbell and Fred Onyedinma (who would celebrate it with the third goal of the match). 3 other players also came off the bench to make their debuts and they were Admiral Muskwe, Carlos Mendes Gomes and Henri Lansbury.

    Only one player has been born today and that is Shaun Whalley who played 42 games for the Hatters, between 2013 - 2015, scoring 5 goals.
