I don't often disagree with you but I do on this. As others have said, it appears to me like he was trying to angle his body in a way as to get a shot or cross in. He was in control of the situation but the ball just starting to get away from him so trying to get it fully under control. As he does the defender clatters into him. So, for me, it's a clear penalty all day, every day. No question.

If it was a case of manipulating the situation to draw the foul isn´t that what forwards to all the time? Think of forwards going one on one with the keeper going past said keeper but leaving his trailing leg low so the keeper catches it and a penalty given. Or a forward holding up the ball from a clearance with no support so angles his body to shield it and then draw the foul and win a free kick. What´s the difference?
