    Yes, a bit of a pain as about three hours but in my own experience Spanish trains are a joy - also tend to have great buffet carts - good for conversing with locals and brushing up on the lingo. My parents lived between Alicante and Murcia up till 2020. So was used to making this journey. Trains tend to be relatively cheap which means more Euros for beverages e.g. Alhambra.
