Hatters Heritage - On this day

Posted by StriderUser icon on 2/7/2026, 8:08:26

    Born today: https://hattersheritage.co.uk/players?born-today=yes&sort=date-active

3 players have been born today.

The first was Billy Curwen who was born in 1905 and made his only appearance for the club in 1929. This was followed by Billy Gripton who was born in 1920 and played 3 games for the Hatters in the 1948/49 season.

The last player to be born on this day was Tim Breaker in 1965. He played 262 times for the Town between 1984-1990, scoring 3 goals. The last of those was the first goal in the memorable 3-2 with at Derby County on 5th May 1990. A magnificent strike which, from the moment he hit it I could see (from where I was standing on the open terrace that day) was heading past Peter Shilton and in to the top left hand side of the goal, as viewed by Hatters fans behind the goal at the other end.

Finally, although I doubt he reads the Luton Outlaws website hopefully a friend or acquaintance may do. I therefore would like to place on record my thanks and appreciation to Eli Adebayo, who played 182 games for the Hatters scoring 47 goals between his debut for the Town on 16th February 2021 and his last game on 5th April last year. Thanks for the memories Eli and best wishes in the future
