    5 players born today, with 2 of them being born in 1875 (Bob Draper and Frederick Dawson). The other 3 were Claude Banes (born 1904), Hugh McGinnigle (born 1906) and Craig King (born 1997).

    Born today in 1873 was Willet Ball, who served as a club director in the early 30’s. He was also a JP and active in local politics, as well as attending every town school sports to which he was invited. His other claim to fame was that (according to local sports columnist Crusader) he was the only season ticket holder in the 1940/41 War time season. How many games that involved I do not know.
