Born today: https://hattersheritage.co.uk/players?born-today=yes&sort=date-active
6 years ago, in 2020, we played what is likely to be our only ever game on this day. As a result of the introduction of the first Covid restrictions it was our first match since 7th March and was also the Hatters first match to be played BCD ( “behind closed doors” )
Following the “lockdown” imposed by the Government it had meant that no football matches had taken place for 15 weeks/105 days and during that time the Board had decided that Nathan Jones should return as manager, with a remit to help us avoid relegation from the Championship.
A 1-1 draw at home against Preston, with Callum McManaman equalising in the 87th minute, meant we remained in the relegation zone with a total of 36 points from 38 matches.
6 players have been born on this day and they are:
Joe Blackett (born 1875)
James Moore (born 1877)
Alec Chamberlain (born 1964)
Kofi Nyamah (born 1975)
Ian Roper (born 1977)
Luke Trotman (born 1997).
