Have been enjoying the Wandering Northerner posts on Facebook showing progress of the new stadium but he now seems to have attracted a lot of the doom mongers - I’m sure some of whom post or did post on here.

What did the last update say?

It's moving at a glacial pace and time is money. I suspect there are problems - design, contractor, funding, decision making, fear, revamping again?

Someone needs to ask why the Board who decided to buy a derelict heavily contaminated ex industrial estate with a power station on it and a river running through it in a town centre location with 3 main roads leading to it?
Or why the decontamination and groundwork has cost nearly double the budget at £10m, with no tender process used.
Or why they sold j10 site because the ‘retail supported’ model no longer worked to design PC as a ‘retail supported’ model 🤔 which clearly won’t work, no one wants the hotel, demand for town centre retail units lowest in decades and prices of apartments fallen off a cliff…

PC is the worse location to put a ground other than being close to railway station, Crawley Green Road, Hitchin Road and OBR converge on the area, traffic will be carnage esp with Saturday traffic on town centre. River and power station on it??? We could have kept j10 or how about sundon park fields nr leagrave? J10 was sold as the retail model wouldn’t work we were told yet they buy PC is bought and the ground will be built using ‘retail’ project.
None of the construction work was subject to a tender. No business starts a £300/400million contract without a tender process to get best price. The work getting PC ready and the building of the stadium is being done by a company without tender and which is now a main sponsor…. Lot of questions to be asked
