2 major changes I'd like to see but will probably never happen

1st one has been mentioned before, a ball in play clock instead of the 90 minutes. It can probably only be implemented at professional level as it needs a dedicated official. In theory time wasting is stopped straight away.

2nd one is to change the penalty distance, or have 2 different penalty spots. Too many penalties are awarded nowadays. A penalty is converted roughly 80% of the time, so it's a massive reward for a foul where there may not be a clear goal scoring opportunity such as a handball by a defender blocking a cross near to the winger on the byline. You could move the penalty spot back 3 or 4 yards so the penalty conversion rate goes down. Or have 2 spots, one for a clear denial of goalscoring opportunity at 12 yards, and one near or on the edge of the box for the less severe fouls.

Or, you could even shrink the penalty box from 18 yards to 12 yards.
