43 years ago today, the night after losing at Old Trafford and four days before the crucial game at Maine Road, we took a full strength team to Watford for a testimonial for Ross Jenkins (not George Reilly as David Pleat said in the video posted recently) - the game was played for the Rigby Taylor Cup. Watford fans were taking the you know what about our potential relegation when, during a break in play, Graham Taylor appeared on the tannoy saying that Luton had been good enough to honour their commitment to send a full strength team despite the situation and asked their fans to show more respect. Their was a standing ovation and the chants stopped.
