This is the best idea. Where I am the government has just forced through a mega site, absolutely huge, despite local residents not wanting it and local council refusing it. I also live very close to the big windmill things and get my energy from Octopus who have a running clock showing how much money has been wasted so far from switching them off due to too much supply. As a local I think why don't you just funnel that wasted energy to locals either free or very cheaply? I don't fully understand what the issue is exactly but I think when it's really windy they generate so much energy that it creates a kind of traffic jam on the grid? Sounds typically idiotic if that's the case!
