- Re: Clark on his future: “No talks yet”
Out of contract Luton midfielder Jordan Clark has insisted he would love to sign a new deal with the club and remain at Kenilworth Road for another six years if possible.
The 32-year-old was snapped up by the Hatters in the summer of 2020 when Town were then in the Championship, dubbed the ‘best free transfer’ ever made by then manager Nathan Jones. He has gone on to enjoy a wonderful time in Bedfordshire since, scoring in the play-off final win over Coventry City in May 2023, also netting in the penalty shootout that followed, as Luton reached the Premier League.
“I’ve never wanted to leave and to be truthful I could have maybe gone in the summer, but I felt that little bit of debt to the club, especially after the back-to-back relegations which was tough. Listen, it was more tough for the fans of course who have been here a lot longer before me and will be a lot longer after me, but that West Brom game was a really dark day.
"It was tough, I’ll never forget that, but I’ve had the highest of the highs here and the lowest of the lows, and nothing more than I’d love is to help get this club back to the Championship. If that would be it for me it would be such a great way to go out, but we’ll see what happens. Full focus on the games and then I’ll sit down with the club and hopefully we can get something sorted.”
