    For me, when those words were uttered – maybe in jest – it showed the start of the disconnect. It revealed people drunk on success, unwilling to stop and properly reflect on how we actually got there. It gave a glimpse into the over-inflated opinions some had about their abilities.

    In any business you work in, you need to be able to pause, reflect, and honestly assess what has gone well and what hasn't – and identify where you can learn and improve. I think the Premier League millions have contributed to this not happening. We're constantly told it's coming, but personally, I've yet to see any real evidence of it.

    You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
