    I played one game for the Old Boys in the mid 90's (my dad won the League with them in the mid 50's). I was working nights at the Royal Mail, a fellow postie - an OB player - phoned me just after I'd got to bed around 9am asking me if I fancied a game, the OB's were short - in fact desperate..... Yeh. of course I do! So after a couple of hours sleep I went over to Flitwick, signed on for the OB's and had the game of my life (I was at the time plying my Sunday trade in Division 7 of the NHCSFL). We won 4-0, I played central midfield, and they wanted me to play every week from then on. Unfortunately I was due in hospital on the following Monday for a foot operation. Never played for the OB's again, but did get to know JJ's dad Mick, and we swapped kits if ever the OB's had a colour clash (no pun intended).

    Soon after I moved to Shropshire, and played in the Shropshire County Premier League up til when I hung up my boots aged 40.
