    1) He got us promotion to the Premier League. Maybe it would have happened under Jones, but it wasn’t looking likely at the time.
    2) I’ve never heard or read anything remotely credible about Edwards’ alleged infidelity. The rumours only emerged after his sacking, and were always third-hand at best, with so many players’ wives and mothers supposedly in the frame, it seems up there with faked moon landings.
    3) He offloaded Berry and co at the right time. It was the quality of the replacements that was suspect, and we all know how good recruitment has been ever since.
    4) Edwards got a lot wrong last season: sidelining Pelly during the injury crisis was bullshit. But he was clearly only part of a lot that was toxic last season. I’d love to know what really happened at the club. Upending Clark’s wife really wasn’t to blame, I suspect.
