I think for balance it’s a bit of both with Bramall - he was clearly brought in as a punt as decent LWB cover to whoever was going to be signed as first choice, only we then stuffed up signing anyone there. (Anyone who thinks Doughty was ever remotely going to stay has been kicked in the head by a horse.)
He’s certainly exceeded any expectations, including recruitment, but fair play that they got him in as cover.
