I think if Mengi had one other decent defender alongside him he might stand a chance.
He is constantly having to fill gaps left by the other two.
I have played alongside slow centre backs and it ruins your game because you are constantly making allowances.
If he had an equal alongside he could concentrate on his own game .
Confidence is king ,if you can't have Confidence in your team mates it starts to erode your own.

I think he is the best out and out defender, the problem is ahead of him, we can't create anything up top, so midfield bomb forward to make the extra players even Mads was stepping in to create an overload, so easy to break against and away from home that is suicide.
