Was Eastbourne bad because of the ground or because it was a mile and a half to the nearest pub (which was a pretty shit one in a shopping centre)?

If distance to pub (or civilisation) is an issue can I throw in Salisbury as a contender?

Kettering was pretty shocking as well - slightly inclined terrace that meant your calf muscles were screaming by the end. But it gets plus points for having a Vulcan bomber on crow control
