Luton Town 20/21 an absolute masterclass.

Nathan keeps us up on the 22nd July and inherits Graeme Jones signings. The season ends late due to COVID and nobody really had a clue until late which division we'd be playing in.

Most of G Jones dross leaves and over the season we bring in KDH on loan, Lockyer, Clark, Bree, Osho, Naismith and Elijah. Most of those players really come in to their own over the next couple of seasons and four help us get to the top flight at Wembley.

There are a couple of unsatisfactory loans with Norrington-Davis, Tom Ince and Nombe. Also Jones seems to instantly have a falling out with Morrell. However, it was one hell of a turn around and set us up as a decent Championship club.

The squad was lean and the idea that we only brought in players that were better or could improve on whet we had felt true. They were also all fit. Probably our best window since leaving the conference.

The next couple of years, which saw us take more speculative punts on young players like Muskwe, Fred, Mendes Gomes, Thorpe, Pepple, Watson, McAtee, Taylor - or old boys like Freeman, Jerome, Lansbury, and Snodgrass - felt like it had as many failures and successes.

It could be argued that since that 20/21 season our only really successful longterm signings have been Morris, Doughty, Bell and Burke - with Drameh and Marv getting special mentions for giving us the quality to get to the Premier League.
