I suppose the idea of pleading guilty and showing some remorse is done in the hope of a bit of leniency.
Mind you, fighting it would have been a waste of time as well. We all know why she got 31 months and he gets off scot free. And that wont change however she pleaded, she´d have been found guilty regardless.
