At the start of last season we still had the vast majority of a squad that had won promotion and then performed well in the Premier League.

But critically even with our PL money we were still a small club in the Championship.

Players like Burrows would have been a decent signing but we simply couldn't compete with the clubs with far greater spending power.

However a club with a parachute payment in League 1 is a huge advantage.

Spend that money wisely and we will get promotion.

Doesn't all need to be on transfers or massive wages either, attract the right players from this level, get the loans in and we start to head back upwards quickly.

For me there are probably two players who I would be genuinely disappointed to lose, Makosso and Ali.

If we can get good money for Aasgard, Alfie, Kaminski and Mengi that its lets say another £15 million+ for the future.

In Wycombe, MB had a team that may well have won promotion before he departed. He did that on a fraction of the resources we have to play with.
